Emolienta Palpebral: the triple-effect cream for sensitive and irritable eyelids

Cold weather, constant use of central heating and certain dermatological disorders can have a negative impact on eyelids, which are very vulnerable to external aggressors. Skin, which acts as our body’s protective layer against the external environment, varies in thickness depending on the area of the body and face. Eyelid skin, measuring 0.6-1 mm in thickness, is the thinnest of all, and is up to five times more delicate than skin on other areas of the face, such as the chin.

The Spanish National Aestheticians Federation (Federación Nacional de Asociaciones de Esteticistas de España, Fanae), explains that the blood vessels of the eyelid are less active and thus provide less oxygen. In addition, they have few sebaceous and sweat glands, which means they have fragile natural protection and a tendency towards dehydration.

The most common complaints

Redness, intense dryness, itching and desquamation are all issues affecting eyelids in need of appropriate solutions. In many cases, these symptoms reflect pathologies such as:

  • Atopic dermatitis: this is the most common condition, particularly in children. According to data from the Spanish College of Dermatology and Venereology (Academia Española de Dermatología y Venereología, AEDV), 20% of children are affected.
  • Seborrheic blepharitis, a chronic condition affecting 5% of the Spanish population which can worsen in winter or in dry interiors.
  • Allergic or irritative dermatitis. The use of certain cosmetics such as eyeshadows or mascara which are not tolerated by the skin can cause this type of reaction.
  • Rosacea, a chronic skin condition affecting the face which can sometimes be localised to the eyelids.

 Emolienta Palpebral – Triple-effect formula

Over the years, Laboratorios Viñas has built up ample experience in the field of Dermatology, allowing for the creation of the Emolienta range which includes products specially designed to offer solutions to the different needs of dry skin.

Emolienta Palpebral is a cream with soothing and moisturising active ingredients to repair skin. It is especially well-suited to eyelids with more sensitive and irritable skin. Its components act on several fronts. On the one hand, hyaluronic acid and glycerine provide intensive moisturisation; furthermore, lanosterol and cholesterol esters and vegetal squalane offer repairing and protective effects, while stearyl glycyrrhetinate and bisabolol provide a soothing and anti-pruritic effect.

On application, it restores normal moisture levels in the affected area, reducing itching sensations and promoting optimal conditions for the repair of damaged skin as well as eliminating excessive desquamation. Emolienta Palpebral is specially formulated for application to the eyelids and comes in a pleasant texture that is quickly absorbed leaving no residue behind.

Its formula’s effectiveness and tolerance have been clinically proven and it is suitable for babies, children and adults. It is also quickly absorbed, leaving behind no residue, and fragrance-free.

To achieve the desired results, it is only necessary to apply a small amount of product onto the eyelid and massage in gently twice daily, preferably in the morning and evening.

The Emolienta range is developed to treat all dry skin, even sensitive and atopic skin. The formulas of this range’s products are specially designed to leave no oily residue and to leave the treated areas feeling very soft and smooth. Its advanced emollient, moisturising and regenerative components make it especially well-suited to delicate skin.
